Service Description

Students will be given the basics of what fusible glass is and how it behaves. A variety of techniques will be presented including instructions on glass cutting. All materials are included. Basic intro: What is fusible glass? Compatibility/COE, Effects of temperature: Tack vs. Contour vs. Full Fuse, and Slump, Stickiness of glass: Kiln wash vs. Shelf paper (Papyros) Also Boron Nitride for molds, Volume Control: 6mm rule. Demo: How to cut glass with the Morton System, simple freehand cuts and how to use the nippers and grinder. Students will make a votive and two 6x6 dishes.
